Is Halifax Bankers Draft Instant?
Comments
-
You only pay for a draft if it is requested from an account tha doesn't hold a cheque book facility. Otherwise the draft is an 'extra' on top of the service you have and so charged for.
This is incorrect, you are still charged £10 if you hold a full current account with chequebook facility. Remember, a bankers draft is a special guaranteed cheque, with the entire payable amount guaranteed by the institution, specifically the issuing branch. The funds for the draft are held against your account by the issuing branch. So it goes above and beyond what a standard cheque does.
In fact, according to the Halifax Website, it works the other way around, someone with an under 18's Cardcash account can issue a bankers draft, for free. Everyone else with a bank account has to pay £10.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0
