I am now signed up to receive an email when the competition becomes live.
You have to be in it to win it!!0 -
Does anyone know of any of these 'house raffles' have actually been given away as a prize in the past?
Well, it's free to enter, so it's worth a try - nothing to lose!
The Cheltenham house competition ended in the winner receiving a cash prize, because they didn't get enough entries - I think the winner got about 80 grand if I remember rightly. The one with the fishing estate in Devon did sell enough tickets and picked a winner, but I think it's STILL being held up, due to intervention from the Gambling Commission, so they haven't been able to hand over the property yet.0 -
What about clause 29 where it says they could offer an alternative prize of a lesser valued property and a cash sum up to the maximum left from funds after reasonable costs have been deducted - that indicates they have no intention of giving away their home.
Call me sceptical, but it's not often you get the chance to get something for nothing!!

It does seem suspicious to me.0 -

There is a question for today (2nd Nov):
What does the Anglo Saxon word 'Bradford' mean?
Answer taken from Wiki: The name Bradford is derived from the "broad ford" at Church Bank (below the site of Bradford Cathedral) around which a settlement had begun to appear before the time of the Norman Conquest ("Bradeford" in the Domesday book of 1086). The ford crossed the stream called Bradford Beck.0 -
I've just been on the site (it starts today), and:
A. I can't find the answer to the question (answer supposedly on site somewhere)
B. The only "ad" they have so far is for their own failed chocolate company! :rotfl:
Oh dear. I got all enthusiastic about posting it because it was such a big prize, but it looks like this house comp is going to turn out like all the others - a flop!
Edit: oops I'm wrong, sorry, they do have some ads there...thanks to LSM above for posting today's answer.0 -
todays ad link is on left hand of page "ASM" hope this saves everyone clicking every advert :-)0
-
Given the nature of the competition, maybe it might be an idea not to post the location of the question? I'm just thinking that the principal of the comp won't really work if everyone knows where it is and doesn't click on the adsThanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Theres another link on the ad for freelance designer on the right hand side but I've entered 20 times already using the two ads
these are the only 2 links to the question that I can find, its also let me enter more than 20 times:rolleyes:so I presume over 20 wont count, I thought this might be an admin nightmare, hope it all works out;)
Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0
