Just cancelled a Aviva policy as it didnt track after 7 days and I had 14 days in which to cancel as old policy is still running. Painless to do ringing Aviva, they said it take 4 days to get money back and send policy papers when they eventually arrive
  • Generally they have been pretty good - in the main. I've been paid £250 in the last year. There are sometimes problems with tracking (the retailer doesn't acknowledge the transaction to TCB) and on a couple of occasions I got less cashback than had been promised - which makes things awkward if you're choosing a retailer BECAUSE the cashback makes it the cheapest buy.
My only real word of warning is when trying to get cashback from gaming websites; my theory was, if the cashback is, say £20, then why not register and play £20. If I lose, I get the cashback, so nothing lost, and if I win, hey, all the better. Unfortunately, I only ever got the cashback from about 50% of the gaming sites I used like this. The customer service advisor from Virgin Games even suggested that I was pretending I had regsitered through a cashback site!
But apart from them, generally this as been a good way to get a bit of money back on purchases I would have made anyway.

TCB are good I just cancelled as I cant afford the risk if cancellation of insurance after the 14 day cooling off period elapsed it still doesn't pay out
  • Earned over £100 with TCB this year. Only one transaction didn't track and they sorted it really quickly. :T I do wish they would include Amazon though as I use them a lot.

Insurance companies have been letting the side down for me. Co-Op took 4 months to track (£70) then still hasn't paid after 6 months. More Than has failed to track (£80) after 6 weeks and is now being queried.
Pretty much all other transactions have been fine (M&S, Play, HMV, Columbus Insurance etc).
With big purchases, just get the best offer you can find in any case and treat the cashback potential as a bonus.

Still waiting for £68 from Morethan dating back to February 2009.
  • Yep, these are the best, I get about £5 - £10 per month from ebay, La Redoute, Joe Browns purchases etc and soon to start using Tesco thru them.
    I would recommend these definitely.

I only use TCB out of the different sites. Mostly it's fine but I've not had payouts on a couple of occaisions (unfortunately they would have been good payouts - Shiela's Wheels, Alliance & leicester)
MS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :j

I like TCB. They offer an incentive to use them by paying over 100% to regular users. I had a very annoying issue with Nokia that failed to track at 30% on a expensive purchase, but I think that was more about Nokia than TCB. Everything else has tracked and become payable.

I had the same issue. I bought a Nokia phone because of the 30% cashback, and Nokia refused to honour it. Not TCB's fault though, Nokia's. TCB chased it and Nokia refused to pay up. End result, when I bought another phone I got an iPhone instead of a new Nokia.

    TCB used to show the reliability of tracking for different retailers, and Nokia had a dreadful rating and scathing reviews. I now see that they have reset the reliability figures for Nokia to 100% and cleared all of the comments;

That seems deceitful to me, so personally I am not a fan of TCB any more.

  • I've used TCB since my Xmas shopping last year. I thought I was doing well having made £107 cashback but it seems there are many who are earning even more! Hey ho, I can reassure myself that I'm not overspending :p.

Some things have not tracked correctly but that's the fault of the retailer not TCB. TCB are always good to chase things up, though I've noticed they've removed the 'nudge' function to remind them about open queries.

Some retailers are sneaky in only giving cashback on the pre-VAT price or making up the sale value it seems - I'm on their tails

I wish I'd discovered TCB sooner. Plus I agree Amazon should be on there!

    :D
