Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Very Strange... You are all bizarre.
I personally do not think it is right that a highly reputable garage can sell a car on with HP, the someone out there driving this car is obviously oblivious. The finance cmpany would like me to send them my V5 to update their records to ensure the finance is against the correct vehicle. They are unable to reclaim the car as it does not belong to me and my car has no record of HP against it. So, I am going to sell my car, and then pay off the finance. No loan required to pay off finance before - so I'm happy. I will then pay off the finance and buy a nice shiny new car. Just for the record, you are all obviously self proclaimed finance experts but not very people friendly - enjoy chatting amongst yourselves!

Check out the judgement in the high court now with a RBS loan for £17k.
Pay or face a credit meltdown for at least the next 6 years.

They cant repossess a car for which NO finance agreement is in force. Do a HPi check and see what comes back

Morally you should keep paying it as there is a innocent person driving a car with finance on it.

The OP was asking for actual facts and not a judge jury and exocutioner type of answer.

At least answer the question factualy. Then berate for the immoral outcome.

    My 2p worth

Hey I stuck up for you, Ask the finance for a copy of the original credit agreement and see if they can find it.

It gets better - did an HPI check today on my current car just to see what came back and there is finance on it - however, not mine. The garage sold me a car with finance on already and then took the car from me which they never switched the finance on and sold that on aswell! Been in touch with consumer advice and they have referred to Trading Standards as breach of sale of goods act. No help to me really, still have finance to pay off but have been advised to keep the car until the garage sort out the mess. Great...

I refer you back to the current High court case involving RBS - it does not matter if they can find the application or not.

So if the CA is uninforcable but the monies are still owed is that the borrowed amount or the total inc interest.

Surely if the original car was returned due to a fault the HP would just be transferred automatically to the replacement car and the agreement would just continue?
