Quanti and me had a disagreement a couple of months back...but other than that it was good (but they need to learn to talk to their members)
  • Although it doesn't look like it's been re-written I see that the links for WePromiseTo have now been removed.

Rewriting is a big job - it is on the cards very soon - however other things moved ahead of it on the list (bank charges, tunechecker etc) and while the guide could be better and we hope it will be soon - its up to date and alongside the cashback checker still gives strong info. So I didnt mind deprioritising it (its always a question of priorities- there are many other things demanding urgent attention too - as always). Sorry

If people think there are any urgent changes that need making please let us know and we'll take a look :)

  • Thanks for the very quick reply Martin. I understand that other things have taken priority. I was just checking to see if the removal of WePromiseTo was the only change there was going to be :)

There are a few things that I think you should take a look at. It seems like two of the sites being heavily promoted aren't actually registered for data protection. The number that Rpoints/CashbackKings give doesn't actually seem to exist? Not saying they aren't trustworthy (ignoring the service) as I've used them for years but just thought you should be made aware of it: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2116855

Is it possible you would be able to add other sites like GetPoundsBack and Fatcheese to the cashback checker?

Thought a poll might be interesting to see what everyone thought on the Cashback sites MSE currently promote.

Do you think MSE should update the Cashback sites they promote as WePromiseTo and Cashback Kings are no longer offering 100% cashback? Not to mention their customer service is also Slacking!
    ...

Given that the CashBackKings site STILL says

"Why is Cashback Kings better than other sites such as Quidco?
You are guaranteed to be better off with Cashback Kings for two reasons:
    - We do not deduct any fees from your account. By contrast, sites such as Quidco keep the first £5 of your earnings every year
    - We offer a Highest Cashback Promise where, in the rare event that another site is offering more cashback than us, we will match it! "

    on

how can they NOT pay 100%.

All you have to do is claim under their "highest cashback" promise, since TopCashBack will give 100% or more, they can never argue with that.

Or am I missing something, like a vendetta???

Added 1/2/10, here is the new information on whether they do 100% cashback or not, that I found so difficult to track down yesterday.

A reasonable answer, and too long to paste here. Basicaly, both yes and no.

"100% Cashback Site" should be offering and paying "100%" Cashback "100%" of the time rather than fumbling around looking for excuses to offer less than 100% hoping that some of its members wont notice and thus pocket the difference. :(

Sorry the key here is we have the cashback checker which is updated - so as we've a tool the guide is of lesser import. Unfortunately some things just get knocked down the priority list. I will take a look today at it.
