Im currently using an old O2 XDA Mini. I like it because it has the slide out keyboard.
It cam with Windows Mobile 5 but just upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6.5 (latest version)
They are on ebay cheap. Seem to be very reliable too. The only things I have had to buy for it is a new stylus pen as I snapped the old one and a new battery as it wasn't holding its charge0 -
HTC HD2 or Omina 20

I'll second the recommendation for the HTC Touch Pro 20

I never tried any touch screen phone, so I guess I want to get one. I'd use this phone to check my email but it should be available on most phones nowadays?
The list so far:
HTC Touch 3g, HTC Touch Pro 2 (2 votes!), HTC HD2, Samsung Omnia 2, O2 XDA Mini0 -
I use a Windows mobile and have done so since the original Orange SPV. More importantly in this context, I run the department that looks after my firm's mobiles - we have over 100 on a commercial contract, roughly 75% being Windows mobiles connected to our Microsoft Exchange server.
In my experience, there is no one perfect Windows mobile. Some people like touch screens, others prefer Vario-type slide-out keyboards, whilst others prefer conventionally-keyed candy-bar phones. The number of swaps we had to do to keep people happy was substantial, but, as we had a number of users, it generally worked out. On you own, though, it's a different story.
What I will say, however, is you MUST try out the phone you like first. I didn't get on with a purely touch screen phone because the fit between key-size and fingers was not good!
Also, try out your most common use. The touch phone, for example, didn't have the simple Nokia press one button for contacts followed by the first letter of the name to get up the call feature.
Touch phones are also much bigger than candy bars - not an issue for all. And modern finger-based touch phones are not as precise as the O2 MDA/Vario stylus, be warned.
Beg, borrow, steal one of the suggestions in previous posts, but take as long as you need to try out your most needed functions and be sure and know what these are before being swayed by the shining lights and gizzmos that are nice to have, but may not be necessary.0
