IF you do want to pay McAfee is the best I have ever used.

Zone Alarm is a Firewall and AVG is a Antivirus.

If you are going to pay get Nod32

I must apologise for not being specific in the name of the product.

My main point is that you should always use a number of protectoins rather than rely on 1.

Ok I have this on my PC and never have a problem.

A Firewall called Sygate but any good one will do Kerio or Zonealarm are also a good option but you only need one Firewall.

I use AVG Antivirus and no other AV or you can get conflicts if two AVs are on the PC at any one time, Housecall is ok though as its an online sacnner and thats different to a full blown AV.

I also have Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware by Lavasoft and Windows Defender.

So what you have now on you PC is all good, you can just leave it there,

But seeing as this is a money saving site it seems madness to buy for goods when so many freebies are out there.

    No worries mate

  • For future reference, to remove Java Byte Verify, click Start > Control Panel and double-click the "Java Control Panel".

On the 'General' tab under the 'Temporary Internet Files section', click Delete Files.

Ensure all 3 boxes are checkmarked in the Window which appears and click ok.

    Job done. ;)

AVG, the free version at least, will happily co-exist with Avast! (free) antivirus. I have both and they don't have any problems with each other.

Neither comes out particularly highly on antivirus tests so I think it's worth having the two hopefully one will catch what the other misses.

I Would highly disagree about having two, as updates may cause future conflicts.

If security is that much of a worry (depending on what sites are visited) you should buy a AV like Nod32.
