GP's have a bigger problem with missed appointments than with people actually turning up for appointments for a bit reassurance. Better it gets sorted now than it develops into a more complex issue that will 'cost the NHS' even more to sort out. A Mum can't take her child to see a GP without someone having a go about wasting resources?

Anyway, sounds like a bit of a check would do him good, any luck hearing the GP say that there is nothing wrong and that he was just talking while eating will relieve his fears and get him eating again.

I remember choking on a bit of bacon it was very scary (and I wasn't talking or eating with my mouth full) one second your eating away then next you can't breathe! Wouldn't eat bacon for years after that untill the lure of a tasty bacon sandwich was too much for me.

I would take him to the GP too, I was very similar to him and was forced to eat things now I have a problem eating as a adult. If im having a bad few weeks I cant eat anything that needs chewing in particular meat as it gets stuck in my throat, even things like potatoes, chocolate, crisps etc get stuck. i get in such a emotional state of being scared of choking I choke myself and the food wont go down.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

I nearly choked to death a few years ago - I was eating meat - as well as having misplaced ribs and severely bloodshot eyes my throat was extremely sore and swollen for days and days afterwards. I could only confidently eat soup, yoghurts, ice-cream etc but eventually I began to eat mashed potato, well-cooked vegetables and cereal but it took me a long time to be confident enough to eat meat.

I would suggest a visit to to docs and a slow introduction to the foods your son had before the incident.
