That NDG is so clearly well liked and respected.
I don't understand why you have a problem with people welcoming back an old friend.
There isn't any religious element to it that I can see except your simile.
I don't have a problem. Perhaps I too will come to love and cherish NDG once I get to know her? Though I never understood why everyone used to rave about mewbie either.
To be fair to me, I passed one comment about the coincidence of NDG turning up on the exact same day a "where is so and so" thread was created and that was commented upon. I responded and here we are. I agree, it's far too much chat on this economy and recession board about an individual member, so let's just leave it there.
NGD has explained that she never ever lurked during her absence, and I for one am minded to believe her. If you want to believe different Generali, then that's your priviledge. I think you should lay off her though."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. !!!!!!??
At what point did I have a pop at NDG? I wouldn't do that.
Why would you try to imply that I did? Presumably because you realise you've lost the argument so try to chuck in a bit of trolling to distract attention.
If you don't like the thread, don't read it. If you dislike NDG, use the ignore function. If you don't like me then put me on ignore. There's no reason to make a fool of yourself though.
....Again....
....And again.0 -
I think one poster (but perhaps multi ID) is just here for the arguments.
I will play the same game as earlier, begins with H**** ******0 -
Harry Powell/Dithering Dad is just upset because when he resurrects himself with a new name every few months nobody on here gives a monkeys. :rotfl:0

oohhh, you know I love these ones.
Is it me? Nah, that's just my ego. NDG maybe?
Or perhaps that Harry whatsit. Don't recall the name or much about the poster really as nothing of substance gets posted.0 -

Goodness me, you guys take this forum far too seriously!
It was a joke Gen, not trolling. It's plain as a pikestaff that you really like NDG, and obvious to everyone that you're the one defending her and so the comment I made was clearly a gag (well to me anyway. I have found that my humour always fails to hit the mark on this forum.). It was a device to try to lighten the mood. It failed. I apologise for my remarks about NDG, they were made in ignorance of what a great and well respected person she is, I apologise for trying to inject humour into an internet forum. I apologise for arriving here 3 months before Dithering Dad left, instead of 3 years before he left. I apologise for posting on this forum where 'outsiders' are not welcome. I apologise for whatever slight I may have made against you that means we bang heads so much on various threads. I apologise for continuing to post on this board despite being made to feel so unwelcome (except by lostinrates who is a princess). Phew! Is there anything else I should apologise for?
Perhaps it's me or perhaps people need to remember, It's just an internet forum, dear."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -

In turn, I'm sorry I mistook your comments as serious.
It's not so much that 'outsiders' aren't welcome on this board IMO as that new posters often turn out to be old posters with new names.0 -
as to why more returners are not treated in the same way....
a few seem to sneak under a radar..it seems to make sense not to make too much of it thought I doubt BGs etc are not aware. aso some of the returners I, and others, never lost touch with with.
Did we have a cleaver thread on his return? I can't remember, \i know a lot of us were pleased to have him back (though some of us stayed in touch!) .0 -
