Nutricious Wet Dog Food

Please excuse my spelling. Well our gorgeous dog has been with us a week now, and despite us buying her the finest complete dry food, she is refusing it. If we mix with a wet food then she will basically eat the wet food and spit out any bits of dry food that she happened to get into her mouth by mistake.
So my question is, what brands of wet food are not overly expensive but are as nutricious as a dry complete food? DH says he used to feed his dogs a food that came shaped as a sausage. I think they fed them Chappie in the dogs home she was rescued from. Now bearing in mind she is weighing in at 26kg atm (and not overweight at all) and she can put the food away (ikkle piglet
)
Any MSE suggestions ?
Many Thanks
Niki

If its any help my puppy doesn't like her complete dry food but will happily eat it with some gravy on or tiny bits of cheese mixed in.
If we have some leftovers I mix that in with her biscuits to.Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. Soreen Kierkegaard 1854.0 -
I'd recommend Butchers for a good wet food, the tripe variety in particular. My two dogs are fed on it and one since she was a puppy and she's always done well on it.0

Have you tried wetting the complete dog food?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

What dry food are you giving her? Maybe she doesn't like that particular brand?
I do have the same problem with my dog. So I buy naturdiet, chop it into cubes, mash a cube up in some water, so it's like a gravy then mix his dry food in and he wolfs his dry food down then.Sigless0 -
If chappie suits her, I would stick with it - it is very easy to digest, and good value for money - its often recommended by vets for dogs with sensitive tummies!
Alternatively, try wetting her dry food with hot water, and letting it cool - sometimes adding a mashed sardine or tasty scraps can make it more appealing!0 -
Thanks everyone - will go back to chappie. I have tried damping down the dried food but she still turns her nose up. I have a feeling that in her previous home she was al leftovers girl. Unfortunately for her - we do leftovers here - LOL
thanks again

I have found my dog prefers dry food stale. Or I put it in a toy and she will eat it if she has to work for it. On the weekend she has a tin of fish mixed with it and will eat most of it. I also sometimes as a treat give her mince in gravy with her dry food and its the only time she cleans her bowl.
I feed her burns and her coat is very shiny and healthy. She is mostly a happy well balanced dog but best of all when she goes to toilet if she just eats the dry food it comes out perfectly formed and virtually smell free!0 -
To get her use to eating try something neutral and safe like the Applaws Chicken breast, it will be in the cat section but the ingredients are just Chicken breast so it won't do any harm and might just get her started.Help me to help you :santa2:0

I havent yet found a tinned food that does not result in stinky farts! Sorry!0
