buymobilephones.net Orange Saver Plans - what happens if they go bust?
Hi guys. I'm looking at getting a phone from these guys on their Orange Saver Plan - http://www.buymobilephones.net/orange_saver_plans.ihtml - but I'm not sure what happens if the company go bust during the contract. I know on redemption schemes the cashback is with the company so if they go bust you're stuffed... anyone know what happens with this offer?
Thanks!
Thanks!

as far as i can see the discount comes straight from orange, so whoever you buy from doesnt matter, the discount wont be removed if they go bust0

Might be the case with buymobilephones.net but I tend to disagree.
Back in 2006, I purchased a phone via a company which went bust. I got 3 out of 4 cashbacks, the final one I never got as company went into liquidation (the network was 3). Fortunately for me I had earnt commission on initial deal and plus I sold the phone later (so my loss was not great particularly as it was a pretty good deal for 12 months). I was very lucky with this.
Now I never saw a penny of the final cashback - the last thing I did was register a claim via some web site set up to manage the winding down of that company. And never will see a penny.
In case of buymobilephones.net - they seem a bit more robust brand but who knows if any company will be around - its pot luck.0 -
but its not a redemption cashback its a discounted line rental direct from the network, with the discount being part of the contract. the whole redemption thing is a different thing alltogether0

Ooops sorry mis-read (not for the first or last) - in that case I agree with Snakeeyes21.

I would be a little guarded. If you look at the Orange Web site, their Dolphin 30, for example, is £5 more per month than the offer here, and that is discounted.
Now if this is an Orange offer rather than a buymobilephojnes direct offer, would it not be available through their site as a discounted plan?
I don't pretend to understand just how the relationships between dealer and Orange works, but this one seems to suggest Orange are paying a sun=bsidy to the dealer (so he makes his profit) and to you on the line rental.
I would double check it with Orange and, do compare the Orange site plan discounts (including the length of contract) with the dealer's offer0
