Did you set the master/slave jumpers correctly?
Have you replaced the old one or fitted them both? If they are on the same cable one needs to be master and the other slave. Or set them both to CS (Cable Select) Where the system will decide which one is master and slave.0 -
Does it read normal cds eg music cd's or films0

Hi, I've also got a problem with an Emprex DVDRW 2016 IM DVDre-writer.
I'm using Windows XP and it appears in Explorer as a DVD writer however... so far so good. When I put a blank dvd into the writer or one I've already burnt files to it asks if I want to burn files to a CD..... it is like the system thinks it's a CD writer not a CD/DVD writer. Is my driver wrong and where will I get the correct DVD driver for this?
A speedy response would be appreciated as the computer nearly went through the upstaires window last night!!!!!0 -
ACPD - You may need to update the supported driver inf file for the burner SOFTWARE you are using, not the CD/DVD driver software that Windows uses.
Emprex does sound to be a rather unusual name maybe not supported yet by the burner application? Can you get a branded CD/DVD writer?0 -
Emprex apparently just rebrand other manufacturers' (Sony/Optiarc) drives, early ones were rebranded BTC drives.totalsolutions wrote: »Emprex does sound to be a rather unusual name maybe not supported yet by the burner application? Can you get a branded CD/DVD writer?0 -
Other problems apart from it thinking it's just a CD writer rather than a CD / DVD writer is that you can write files to a disc and then at the end of the operation it just says write failed!!! Really annoying.
If I go into Device Manager and delete it can anyone recommend a driver (inf file) that I can download for free from somewhere that might resolve my problem?0 -
Hello me again .....well I eventually gave up with my pc not burning disks , and ive gone out and bought a second hand tower last weekend from a computer fair.
The one ive purchased only had a cd / writer on it so I also bought a pioneer dvd rewriter whilst I was there and the salesman connected it all up for me there and showed it me working .
But here goes .................... I place cd and dvds in both drives and they play ... But yet again I place a dvd in to burn and NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!! -I just wanna scream ...please can someone help me again ????Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin
