7-14% fuel saving??

I'd like to reply to the points you made in the previous post.
You say that you didn't claim that you got an increase of 30%-so here is what you actually said-
Quote=My results so far are: usually I put 35 liters into my tank at a cost of roughly £32.50 and I get about 280 - 290 miles out of that.
I put my first 2 capsules in on Friday (everyone must put 2 in to start with). Over the weekend I traveled to Newcastle and back after filling up with a full tank, I managed to get 369 miles out of the car!!!!=Unquote
That equates to an increase of between 27.24% and 31.5% depending on
whether you start with 280 or 290 miles per tank as the base figure. And
with all the exclamation marks after it, no mention of any other possible
contributory factors, then the inference is quite clear-it was the product that
did it.
This is a totally wrong conclusion. Because you do not know what your car would have achieved without the ffi on that journey. All sorts of factors
distort fuel tables. And now that the weather is better, the nights are longer,
there is less need for the use of lights.heaters, windscreen wipers and the
winds are lighter than in winter, it is normal to expect fuel consumption to
improve without the use of additives.
The mere fact that your company is shipping to 90 countries is meaningless.
Their product is being bought by people like you, people who want to make
some extra income. And while there is nothing wrong with that, it does not
prove that the product works, only that the company marketing works.
You say that the company has completed 20 million miles of double blind tests.
Sounds impressive. To achieve that would require 200 vehicles driving 100
thousand miles a year and fuel costing upwards of £2 million alone. There
should be a wealth of corroborative test results for that amount of effort-
and yet the proof is woeful. Nor can it be substantiated.
How does it work?"The caps first of all clean, lubricate and condition the entire fuel system. The micro thin layer acts to catalyse the fuel and break it down to it's molecular level."
I haven't a clue what that last sentence means, and nor, I suspect, do you.
What I do know is that by applying that layer would nullify any existing warranty on the car. It may also increase the engine temperature, causing
possible engine damage: an increase in nitrous oxide fumes: etc etc. And
the possibility that a company registered in the USA [is it?] will reimburse me
if the product does damage my engine, seems as fanciful as most of its
other claims.
As I said, I have worked for a company that does have a fuel saving device that works, so I know what to look for. And your product does not exhibit
confidence inspiring characteristics.0 -
But listen, let's stop arguing over the technicalities as anyone can pick holes in anything if they look and try hard enough. I mean why wait until the this product is well known over here until you start using it. What's the harm in trying it now if you're covered by up to a million pound in liability insurance by FFi and the manufacturer.
I am selling 12 for the price of 10 at £17 currently.Happy chappy0 -
Apparently it's all down to.... mothballs!

Sorry to drag up an old post but there's a video on METACAFE regarding ACETONE
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/524517/double_your_gas_mileage_2x/
I did a google about Acetone (in UK) and found nothing conclusive... just opinions.
Anyone have any opinions for petrol cars in UK ? Mine is a 2.0 GLSi Cavalier (L reg).0 -
Why don't you follow the poster aboves recommendation of 2ml per litre? The guy in the video was using approx 1.5ml per litre. Though he claims an increase of 10mpg, but I honestly don't think you'll get anywhere close to that.
There is nothing stopping you trying yourself, you've nothing to lose by adding such a small amount to your tank. The difficulty is in measuring any saving accurately.0 -
I'm reserving judgement until the independent lab results come out. Shouldn't be hard to get if it does what it says ...0
