Bad fitting boots, where do i stand??

I don't understand why they didn't simply replace them. I've had to take shoes back on numerous occasions (sharp bits that rub which aren't apparent until they've been worn properly once and not obvious on a try-on) and I've always been offered a replacement.0

Perhaps it's bad design - I bought some £80 boots a few years ago and for some idiotic reason the company had decided to place a 1 inch square raised and embossed piece of leather with their logo on it stitched and glued to the inside of the boot, right under the heel. I didn't notice any pain until after wearing them a few times - so I have have just had to live with it (the pain is unbearable after walking for half an hour or more - 2 pairs of Odor Eaters alleviates the problem a bit due to the padding).
I think the brand was CAT, can't remember as I finally threw them out today. I'll steer clear of their products in future.0
