I went in to my local M&S last night to get the 2 dine for £10 offer.
They didnt have much of a selection left, and NO side orders, I was able to get what I wanted without the side, never mind I thought I have veg at home I can cook.
When I went thru the checkout it came to £17!!!!
I then queried this with customer service, who said we didnt have all the deal they had to charge individually and wouldnt do the deal for me. All they could offer was a refund. MADNESS
M&S must no need my money and a total wasted journey. FURIOUS, BEWARE:mad:

If a sign said "Buy 2 save £1" and you bought 1 item, would you expect to save £1?0 -
A bloke walks into a bar...
The barman says,
"It's Happy hour... two drinks for £3"
The bloke says,
"how much for one drink?"
"£2", says the barman
"I'll take the other one!" the bloke says0 -

Or to put it in a way the OP may understand - if you go for a BOG offer or anything similar, if all the items are not there the store will not do the offer as the offer depends on availability of all items.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
There was something similar to this featured on either Watchdog or That's Life years ago. In that case somebody at a motorway service area ordered the "special breakfast deal" but he said he didn't want the sausage. So they priced it as separate items and he ended up paying a couple of pounds more for the meal. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

So you didn't buy the specified items and they charged you a different price?
Right, so your furious warning is...
Pick the right items and have Dine for 2 for £10
Select incorrect or miss an item and pay a different price...
You are completely in the wrong here0 -
i was in m&s on saturday and noticed that they had almost run out of side dishes, i then heard the manager telling the staff to take down the dine for £10 signage because they had run out they could no longer run the offer. That is what should have happened in your store. This then means that all the items in the offer can still be sold but at their full price only.
in the past i was aware that stores were provided with a contingency menu in case any items ran out, maybe they have stopped this. I was also told by a member of staff that from now on stores will not be sent every item that is displayed on the websites dine menu, only a selection so if you want something specific you may need to shop around in future.0 -
I am with the original poster on this. If the sign is still out offering the deal for £10, and not all items are available, they should still allow you to have the rest of the deal for £10 - if the buyer is prepared to theortically take less, but for the same price, technically, the store are better off. Why penalise the customer - bad customer service or "daft" company practices can lose customers, and then they go elsewhere.0

You could always go to Lidl. You can feed a family for a week on £10.0

I think this is down to a matter of intelligence. There's obviously posters here who just post for the sake of it to bump up their postings.
There's too many assistants who don't know how to use discretion. Like asking for id when the person is obviously old enough to buy whatever. Or if the store in question hasn't got enought items in a 'special' then they could use a little bit of nowse.
In these days of recession and retailers have to fight tooth and nail for any business, the customer has to be even more right, or they'll lose that customer.
I'd write to head office and see what they have to say. I'm sure Rose would give you what you want.0
