12 Digit Mobile Numbers

My friend has just received a replacement phone after his previous one was stolen, and his new number is 12 digits long.
But i thought all UK mobile numbers were 11 digits? Since when have we started to be issued 12?

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Perhaps a sign of the times, there are perhaps so many mobiles now in use that there isnt the capacity to keep issuing new 11 digit numbers, by creating numbers with one extra digit released stacks of new numbers!When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

Nope the number is 07xxxxxxxxxx, so no country code. Did a look up online, but much info but there does appear to be some being issued.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

They have only just started issuing the twelve digit numbers in the last month, although officially these were'nt meant to be released until the end of october. I believe at present only the 3 network but it won't be long before other networks start issuing them,0
