STILL waiting for my contract of employment

Good evening everyone, it was very rude of me not to reply sooner giving you all an update.
I had no choice but to work for the company as I had no other viable job offers at the time, and couldn't possibly contemplate not working. - What would I do all day?!
Things have gone ok since joining, they are very inefficient and disorganised, most of their clients think I am a god send, which is nice for motivation but leaves me feeling worried when I finish with this place and go to a proper job, I may end up feeling out of place and weird working back in a place that runs like it is supposed to.
They are all very laid back at this place, and I am getting pretty stressed out as the jobs I am given, I am unable to complete due to them not giving me enough info or the wrong software etc. (It is an IT support based job).
All the other employees, laugh and say I will get used to it, but it is so in-efficient and a waste of both their time, mine and their money.
I am trying to just relax like the others, but I am finding it hard to just not worry when things are not done well or go wrong. I like to get it fixed and walk away from the job knowing I have done everything I could and just feel happy with myself.
Anyway, I have begun looking for other jobs, I have been offered 4 so far, however the money is much less. (over 5k less), so I am going to hang on in there for now.
My biggest problem is mileage. I am doing roughly 40 miles there and back. I only get business mileage. I knew this when I started but was not too sure what impact this would have on fuel bills. It is costing around £55-65 per week. Which works out quite a chunk annually. Also my lovely car is becoming a real workhorse and stacking up the miles, so I am trying to get myself a cheap banger (it will come in handy for my next job anyway). Also my insurance does not cover me for business mileage, so I am trying really hard to get a second car I can use just to get to work.
Fingers crossed, and thanks for all of your help and advice.
For now, it is a job which (um..well I was not paid for oct, but I hounded them and got it)... pays, and that is what is important for now. After Christmas, I will try again for new jobs and see what comes in.
I am dreading how long my new employer will have to wait to get a reference from them!0
