LOL, me too!
One of my chums from Italy is over here now so I've begged her to only speak to me in Italian when we meet (provoking teasing about so long as I haven't picked up DH's accent). DH and family speak mainly in very broad Tuscan at home. A lot is unintelligable to meand I visited a friend elsewhere in Italy, only about 2/3 hours drive, and couldn't even understand things like ''how are you?''. which is odd, because I'm usually quite good with accents.

The word seems to take near 3 seconds to complete. A slowly pronounced word up there. PppoaacheD egg. A deep low tone to it as well. As you begin and hold the word as though you're putting you lips together and out as though you're making to give a kiss.
I like them too - perhaps for the same reason as you Lir for not having one. Nothing Carolt. It can be a hindrance for some people I've found though. At work there are enough people who sometimes cruelly mock another person for their accent, but I'm not one of them. However I'd still think carefully before settling somewhere it was likely a child would develop a particularly strong regional accent. l.)
You wouldn't like to live in LeighI think there is R an in that poached as well, poarrched.
BTW, I was surprised Cleethorpes is quite nice and some of the places down the Lincolnshire coast and just inland are really lovely.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. You want to try the neopolitan dialect/accent.

You are fluent in Italian? Cool.)
Do you ever go up stalybridge or anywhere round there, the accent is lovely
its more like poarched egg there:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
You're all making me want to go up north again - we usually try to go up to see people at least a couple of times a year; haven't been for ages....0

Cleavers you've got to understand one thing about Heaton Moor, nobody and i mean nobody moves away from there, most houses pass down through the family for generations. That's why prices are bleeding horrendous there.
I advice you look in Chorlton, Didsbury and Sale.
If you don't mind living a bit further out then give Heald Green, Handforth and Wilmslow a crack.0 -

Consider it, there are a lot of crap parts of the north, but it is a bloody big place and you do get so much more for your money. Yes you can find a 3 bed in london under 250, but what do you have to do to maintain it- pretty mcu hkill yourself working hard.
We again have the worst QOL in Europe surprise surprise. High house prices and "values" are to blame for this, thats why we have the longest working week and the shortest holidays than some of our neighbours.
I wouldnt pay over 200 in these parts were discussing, as there are plenty of equally good areas for less money. In these areas were discussing there are no "hellholes" trhe worst areas of SK8 type area's will have a bit of grafitti or kids drinking in the park. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? People talk about supply and demand.
Well supply and demand works like this....
lots of people like yourself to say, "f*ck off, I'm not paying that price as we can't raise the mortgage "
then lots of people who are selling say, "f*ck off, i'm not selling at that price as it doesn't clear our existing mortgage "
Result stalemate. Or is it ?
Question is who can or will be forced to move first.
Like chess the pieces are being moved around the board very slowly. And eventually there will be an endgame.0 -
