Postal Strike?

Is there a postal strike coming up?

I am about to send quite a few items out and if there is chance of a strike i want to let all the buyers know before i send out the items in case they are not aware and think i've been slow in the sending them out.

Thanks for your help.

There have been localised strikes now for several weeks, and ebay are saying that sellers should add a note to despatch emails to say that items may be a little delayed.

Even when my post code area was affected I had no issues with getting or sending post, but if you do a search for threads on here you will see that some people were hit quite badly.

I think it is actually OK at the moment though

Probably although you will know when it is as they (The union) have to give notice

The National strike hasn't been decided yet as there is a 7 day consultation period (not sure who they are consulting)
  • I haven't bought a single thing on ebay or by mail order since these strikes started and shall not until the massive backlog has been cleared which will not be this side of Christmas at the earliest, or so I understand. I'm suffering ebay withdrawal and I hate it!

Wildcat strikes are still happening though (because, by definition the union can't stop them), so they will cause a bit of disruption.

POSTAL union leaders are considering launching 10 days of rolling strikes that could leave a backlog of 100m undelivered letters.

The crippling industrial action, which could start as early as next week, would encourage hundreds of Royal Mail customers to defect to other providers.

'Frightening' number of job-seekers at event

SHOPPERS in the city centre might have thought there was a huge closing down sale on when they were confronted by long, snaking queues of people. But the queues were made up of the city’s jobless who swamped the town hall.

For the past 3 weeks post have been effected in the london area, especially the last 2 weeks where it takes about 5-7 days for post to turn up. I even have the postman delivering my post this morning! Never had RM delivering on a sunday, ever. Think they are trying to clear the clogged up by wildcat strikes for the past month.

Ive (touch wood) had no delays either buying or selling since the strikes. Not understanding your logic of not buying things
