Just had a look at my router and it does say 2.4Ghz-802.11g so will this be ok or is there something else I need to do to check?Debt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_

I think DHCP should be on for the Broadcom adapter0

Hmm, that's not right. Are you sure you are correct in post #11? The config. you need to check is labelled "Wireless Network Connection 2"
>IP Routing Enabled<
That's odd too. Has your brother's laptop had Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) installed and been connected directly to a broadband modem somewhere?0 -
I had the same problem, when trying to connect my work laptop, as it was already configured for work use. I created a new log on for home use, and changed the Internet Options...
In Internet Explorer, click on 'Tools' menu, select 'Internet Options', click on the 'Connections' tab, and near the bottom click on the button, LAN settings. Then I ticked 'automatically detect settings', and untick the proxy boxes. It works now. I hope that works, if not, jot down any changes so you can reverse these instructions...:money: [STRIKE]Mortgage: July01=62700; Apr07=~15000[/STRIKE]

try letting windows do it
Open network connections and double click your wireless adapter. select properties and then click the wireless networks tab... tick the box that saysuse Windows to configure my wireless network settings.0 -
