    No, this is bad advice.

Your own motor insurance policy doesn't cover you for sustaining injuries yourself, (but does cover you should a third party make a claim against you for causing injury to them)

    Well thats unlikely.

So if these MIB just cover the car, he can't claim for being unable to work anyway.

Is it just me, or does this country seem to stuff-up the honest worker:rolleyes:

I very much doubt this woman will be found.

It doesn't matter where he takes it as long as he takes it somewhere! Yes you might have to pay but the alternative, assuming there is damage, could cost far more than money!

No, the MIB don't just deal with damage done by untraceable or uninsured drivers, it can help over injury and loss of earnings too.

Sorry, I'm not disputing that & you are right.

He's out of pocket after this criminal hit him & now faces further costs and people have the cheek to post above that hes a compo chaser:rolleyes:
Bet they are all employed & would be paid while off:rolleyes:

Despite being a cab driver for donkeys years, he's only claimed two for car crashes. The first one admitted he was at fault to the WPC who attended & his insurers still took an age to sort it & weren't convinced it was worth fighting:rolleyes:
The second was during the snow we had this year & he was parked up & an ambulance slid into him.
My only ever dealings has been my ice skid a couple of years ago & that was simple enough.

So we don't know much about all this claiming malarky:o:p

Yeah well, this board has more than it's fair share of "saints"! As has been posted... ignore them ;)

Get the car checked! Yep it's unfair that you should have to pay for something that's not your fault but better to know things are OK don't you think?

    Will do.
TBH I'm surprised my DH didn't do that, but I think with her attempting to run him over & all he was in shock, plus he really is in a bit of pain (more pain than his usual everyday ignore it & get on with life pain) & is more focused on that.

Things must have changed then, my neighbour got a pay out from the " insurance pot " for injuries that he received from an uninsured driver, but that was while ago.

    Seems i was wrong there.
When we were hit by a stolen car 'the pot' paid for the repairs to the car but not for injuries, that was though over 20yrs ago
I've just been reading the MIB site, there's a lot toread but i think they may pay out something to MrE.

Injury claims can also be delayed if it is difficult for your doctors to agree on the effects, and you may be advised to wait until you have recovered fully, before agreeing any compensation.

I copied that bit from their page.
