i cant see how an accident can be so bad to damage his back, but not cause any damage to his car

Either there is damage (you will need to get under the car and have a look at where to tow bar joins the chassis) or this is just compensation culture

Sometimes there comes a point where you think where do all these high horses come from? You can't move on these forums without tripping over one!
Is there a special store somewhere doing a BOGOF?

Maybe they come with free halos too?

Well maybe he should take it down to Ford & get it checked over?

Should we pay for that too:confused:

I would deffo have it checked purely from a safety aspect, it's possible damage has been done.

So if illegal drivers hit us out & about and we loose earnings (& buy perscriptions) we should all smile sweetly & suffer it.

Your husband's motor insurance won't cover him for lost earnings or prescription charges, whatever the circs!

Indeed, however they will consider a claim for injury.

Well they want him to get in touch about his "claim", maybe they call it compensation, maybe its nothing just for their records.

He was thinking any money would go towards his loss of earnings, perscriptions, hospital parking on the day, & now maybe a check over with Ford for the car.

His own Insurers will pay nothing for his Injuries or Loss of Earnings as it is not something that is covered for the policyholder on a policy. If the other driver had Insurance then you would claim these off them, as the other driver drove off the losses can be claimed via the Motor Insurance Bureau who pay claims for uninsured drivers http://www.mib.org.uk/Home/en/default.htm There is an excess of circa £400 for MIB claims though.

    mib?

    Motor Insurance Bureau

So he looses the first £400 anyway.

Will claming via them affect his premiums?

The 'insurance pot' that you can claim from if you are hit by a hit and run driver will only cover damage to the vehicle, not for personal injuries.
The other option for personal injuries would be to claim from the 'Criminal Injuries' but i don't think in this case you could, your husband has not been off work long enough.
