It was a big step for me to give up my home of more than 10years, my familiar locality, and my steady familiar secure job, but for my OH and I to be together it had to be done - it got to the point where the commuting and him being away became too much - we wanted to be together, or what was the point?
I do miss my old life sometimes, but I have a lot of exiting opportunities now, and I quite look forward to a new posting and a new house every few years!!
We were watching some old episodes of Soldier Soldier a few weeks ago, and realised that some of the scenes were set around our camp and in our mess. When it was originally on tv I watched it avidly, and if anyone had told me then that one day that would be my life and my home I wouldn't have believed them but here I am!!
Everything happens for a reason, so go with the flow and enjoy - you never know what might be round the corner!0 -

So true!! This is how we felt once our son was born. Up until his birth we had been doing the long distance thing, but we just wanted to be together all the time as a family.0 -
I've been a Navy wife for just over 5 years now. I just love it. Moved 250 miles away from 'home' and started a new life. It's brilliant. We live in MQ a few miles from base and have a community centre where we all us wives meet up for coffee/playgroups etc. I have met so many lovely people who all know what each other is going through yet it isn't suffocating. It's hard when DH goes away but it helps to have others around who are going through the same.
Our MQ is lovely. A litle small than we would like perhaps but in a lovely place and a decent house. Good luck with whatever you decide to do though!True MSE'r -Money Spending Expert0
