Talk Talk trying it on???

  • Oh! Have total faith, trust and belief in TalkTalk User Forums.

Like a multitude of others my privacy has been shattered by TalkTalk's unauthorised publication of my personal details in the Phone Book despite having been ex-directory for years.

Do a general web search to discover the extent of this unacceptable failure and then look on TalkTalk Members Forum..........not one single thread about this widespread complaint.

There is one long thread regarding a customer complaining that his personal information had been OMITTED from the Directory (lucky chap!).

I have a sincere conviction that TalkTalk Members Forum is impartial, honest, does not exercises censorship to cover up its corporate incompetence and contempt for its customers and is a very useful resource.

    Long live the Forum!

    Hi Edward,

The Members Forum is not censored regarding customers problems in any way. The only posting that is removed from the forums is posting containing profanity or posing which is reported as offensive by other members. If you had acted upon my request to post your issue on the TalkTalk forums you would see that these matters remain on the forums for all to see. There are several threads on the forums from customers experiencing problems of all kinds. We are a support forum and we offer assistance to customers regardless of the problem. The fact that a search of the forums does not show any posts of this nature simply means no posts of this nature have been placed on the forums.

As I have advised in the other thread you have posted in I have sent feedback to the CEO management and workflow team regarding your posting.

Amilotte, I have your issue on TTMF now - thanks for posting.

    Cheers

  • TalkTalk Members Forum is dedicated, as it's name suggests, to issues relating to TalkTalk - but there is not one single thread about the very widespread problem of TalkTalk removing customers ex directory status without authorisation.

Do a general web search and you will find numerous forums about consumer, telecommunication, internet and other interests with multiple threads - not only about TalkTalk in general but specifically about the company's practise of publishing confidential personal information.

As a new contributor to this forum I am not permitted to post links - but here are of few forums that mention this serious problem -
    Consumer Forums
    The Weekly Gripe
    Omgili
    MSN Money
    Digital Spy
...................and these are only the ones on the first page!

Yes, Emma, I suppose it is just coincidence the the forum devoted to TalkTalk has no mention if its own malpractice whilst the general forums have multiple threads.

    The saga continues.....

TT have now admitted that they cannot trace the call where I 'so say' agreed to an 18 month contract. However, they are saying that as the debt has been passed onto a debt recovery agency then it still stands (should never have been passed over when the case was in dispute and then it was passed to not one debt recovery agency but 3, the most recent 8 days ago). It is up to me to prove that I did not agree to the contract (!?!?) apparently! They are saying that they have their 'notes' as proof so even without the audio of me agreeing to it (and certainly no signatures from me) they are covered.

I believe that sales staff are paid commission so presumably they could write on their 'notes' anything they fancied.

It only took them 11 weeks to confirm that there was no recording of the call

So..... if TT have no proof (other than their notes) that I agreed to a contract then can I still be liable for this fee?
