renewing phone contract without consent

Trying to get some info for someone who has this problem and would like to know:

Can a mobile company renew a phone contract if:

A: The company wasn't able to get hold other the other person

Or

B: The company did not inform the other person about a renewal

Not generally.

Well in a nutshell the contract was up for renewal in about Jan 09 but as far as I'm aware she assumed the contract had finished as she wasn't contacted so she left it at that and then she got a bill through and has kept getting them since Jan.

I don't know why she hasn't called the company but I am going to do it asap but wanted some more info before calling (Carphone warehouse).

The contract becomes a rolling continuios contract after the minimum term.

The customer has to call and give 1 months notice (some insist on cancellation in writing - which is easier to prove)

The contract may have not been renewed, but is rolling on

thats normal. once a contracts mininum term ends you move on to a monthly rolling contract. what they cant do is lock you in for another 12/18/24 months. ifcyoir friend wants to leave tjey just have to give 30 days notice

Yeah, i cancelled last most, the above is correct it is not on 30 day rolling until written (post/email) notice is given.
