Wish people would come here first. :(

'I'm thinking of buying a links of london sweetie bracelet on ebay' - DON'T!
'I've seen some Uggs on ebay' - DON'T!
    'Cool, cheap razorblades on ebay!'
    'Cheap memory cards on ebay'
    'Tiffany on ebay'
    'Cheap DS cartridges'
    'Designer handbag'
'Box set of DVDs that haven't been released yet'

    Ya get the idea.

Ahem. Not all of the above on Ebay is fake - I have sold a number of designer bags and Tiffany jewellery - all genuine. Buyers have a very good safety net if they do buy hookey gear.

No, not all - but most! Not worth the risk imo... and not to a casual ebayer - you need to know what to look for.

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Only if they can get a letter from an official seller stating the item is fake (which some retailers wont do) otherwise paypal will not refund the buyer in a SNAD dispute. So personally i would avoid designer items on ebay
  • Not all designer items on ebay are fakes but it is such hard work to sell genuine items that most of us have given up. I used to sell (mainly) Jimmy Choos on ebay. I used to sell almost a season behind.

Stick with me here because maths isn't my best subject.

If a pair of Jimmys was £400 in the shops I would sell them for about £130 - £140. They were genuine Jimmys. This gave me about £15 profit a pair. I would have been happy with £15 - no problem. What I was not happy with was the constant high volume of unsolicited "offers". All my auctions stated I do not accept offers. It just wore me out so now I don't sell any designer items at all - even though I have access to lots of superb genuine items at a fraction of the price. Shame really.

i have sent her a money request for the postage as i am not paying it out of my own pocket. i have noticed she has had feedback for a couple of other ones she sold. i suppose she will be selling on the one i send back to her as well.

You have returned it? Or you are going to?
DONT, you should not return fake items bought on ebay.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Ah, sorry, I thought the onus was on the seller to prove an item is genuine. It seems most unfair to make the buyer prove it.

In that case, I would avoid designer goods a well.

If this is the same seller how come 100% on only 7 sales, surely at least one dissatisfied customer?
