Virgin 25Mb per day web access question
I'm currently on Virgin PAYG and I'm thinking of upgrading my handset, possibly to a Nokia E63. I've never used the internet on a mobile before and I know that Virgin provide 25Mb per day of web access for 30p. My question is - what can you actually do within the 25Mb limit? I would want it for social network sites, general browsing, checking email occasionally etc. Would 25Mb a day be enough for this, as I don't want to incur extra charges. Thanks.

Its peanuts - if you start getting large attachments in emails or visit sites which are not geared for mobile usage, you could easily go over 25MB - definitely no Youtube or videos.

Thanks for that, can anyone recommend anything else? I've just noticed the 02 Text & Web PAYG tariff which seems quite good for me - unlimited texts and unlimited internet if you top up £15 a month. Is it really unlimited? I've read the terms & conditions and it doesn't mention a specific limit, just a fair useage policy.0 -
Uusually a fair usage of 500MB, 1Gig, 3Gig a month - which in context of the Virgin offer is similar per day.
Best to check the exact details before signing up.
You might want to compare O2 offering to Three - (they have unlimited text and internet with every top up) - dont know exact details.0 -
Um... I'd have said 25MB would be more than enough for what the OP wants, remembering that http://m.facebook.com uses hardly any bandwidth, nor do most webmails.
Not sure why you'd be downloading shedloads of attachments every day.0 -
25mb on a mobile per day is quite aot. i use less than that for a few hours usage. you start to use more if you stream tv, youtube etc. but for general browsing its more than enough.0

25MB for mobile browsing is more than enough. As mentioned you only start to use bandwidth when you stream audio/video.
Use Opera Mini which compresses data and is generally a much better browser.0 -
Thanks very much for the helpful replies. I might stick with Virgin then as most of my friends/family are on it too. I won't be downloading attachments or watching You Tube (I use my computer for that!).0
