I've seen a couple of posts mention these. I'm not sure if this is what they were thinking of but in a Holland & Barrett store I found some Emergen-C sachets 1,000 mg Vitamin C. They are a "Super Energy Booster". You add the sachet to water as a dietary supplement. It says you can take one sachet 2 to 4 times a day. The store I saw them in sold them individually in Orange or Lemon Lime flavours at 49p per sachet but Holland & Barrett have a promotion on at present: buy any item and get any second item half price.
They are distributed by Alacer Corp. www.emergenc.com if you want to get an idea what they look like and find out more.
An alternative is Superdrug's effervescent Vitamin C 1000mg tablets . They come in a tube of 20 tablets in Blackcurrant or Orange flavours. They cost £1.85 per tube but are on Buy One Get One Free at present. It does say to only take one of these per day though. (I did see them in one store today at £1.46 per tube BOGOF so the price varies!)
HTH. Please note I am only quoting directions on packs and I honestly don't know why you can have 2 to 4 sachets as opposed to only 1 tablet when they are both 1000mg Vitamin C!"Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -

Thanks.. i have a house full of items ive obtained through various deals and freebies from this site that i could send to a named person in the forces who would put them to good use ... but i dont know anyone in the forces anymore and i cant send without a name ... such a shame as im sure there are hundreds not getting anything ..
Jockettuk, have you thought of getting a list of people in the forces wanting penpals and writing to a few of them and including some of your goodies? There is a thread about penpals on here somewhere. You can email Deidre at the Sun newspaper for a list. I will have a look now for the thread. Found it on the Freebies Board!
This is copied from MaisyMoo's post so thank you very much to her.
How to get a forces penpal
Here is what is says on the sun website:
"Anyone else in the Forces who would like to be added to the list, or anyone who would like to become a penpal to someone in the Services overseas, just email me at problems@deardeidre.org and put Forces Penpal in the subject line."
Just wanted to say anyone thinking of trying this, maybe wait until after Christmas now so as not to get in way of family parcels as there has been a bit on TV this week about MOD asking that people don't send parcels to people they don't know at this very busy time of year. Added this note 28 November 2009."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0
