Condensation on the outside of double glazed windows. Windows less than 6 months old. Does anyone know why this happens?

It makes you wonder a bit the first time you see it happen because it's just not right is it?
Actually it's because your double glazing is doing it's job so well.

It is because the outside of the glass is cold ie. they are doing a good job of keeping the heat in. I read this http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=4663&page=1#Item_0 this morning, but he has triple glazing. Not much you can do about it as far as I know, except be glad that they are keeping you warm.

The outside of my conservatory double glazed windows have had condensation on them a couple of mornings recently, It was built a couple of months ago and windows are cleaned every other week. It may be something to do with the 'clingfilm' that protects the glass before installation as the condensation has rounded corners. I'm hoping it will weather off over the winter, if not I shall have to clean the glass with meths.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

If the glazing has any "Low E" coatings it's even more noticible - as previously said it's doing the job of keeping the heat in well.
Quite often see an inch of non condensation area around the frames - as the frames are letting the heat out.

We have just had new DG units fitted and have the same problem, does anyone know of any product that could be used on the windows to reduce this, as I have to say had I been made aware of this at the time of purchase I would not have bought them.

We had it this morning too, but we had very high humidity overnight. This is only likely to happen for a few days of the year, but your windows will keep you warm all winter, so I would be happy with them.

Most exterior condensation will be evaporated by 11am anyway.
