Can I re-use the compost from potato bags?

I grew 4 lots of potatoes in those big green sacks this year and have still got all the lovely compost left?
Can I re-use it to grow other veg as it seems a shame to have to buy some more.
Does it lose it's quality after being used for one lot of growing things?

In a word, yes. But I wouldn't use it for veg in the same family (ie tomatoes) If you think about it, when you work a crop rotation, you re-use the soil. You might want to add some nutrients to it though to perk it up a bit
I'm re-using all of mine0 -
I reuse it for my container plants and mix in the soil refresher that the council sell at the local tip.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I never throw soil away if I can unless I have to. I usually mix it with fresh compost bought or from composter. or throw it in composter to reuse next year0

You could spread it on your lawn.
Wait for a forecast of heavy rain, sprinkle it evenly over your lawn, let the rain wash it in and then watch your lawn turn greener!0 -

Please be careful using the recycled stuff from the council!
If you can, make a compost style stack and let it stand for a good while before use, don't forget a lot of the stuff that ends up in the recycling bin can be perennial weeds !
I compost most of our garden waste and reuse it, it's good stuff, the only weeds I put in our garden recycle bin are dandelion/nettle roots, couch grass and the likes which I wouldn't compost.0 -
I empty the used compost from pots etc onto my veg patches and it goes towards helping their soil condition0

Our raised beds soil levels have dropped down over the year, so I intend to top our up with the leftover soil from the potato bins/grow bags. Plus some feed of some sort eg manure, compost. Just need to watch the crop rotation.
So the potato/toms soil will go on the previously tom beds as they will have something else in next year (probaby peas as we want loads next year).
Then any beds not being used will be covered with thick card to keep weeds down for next year

Absolutely stinks though, much worse than comfrey tea. :rotfl:Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
