I have just agreed to the follwing with Vodafone as a customer gladly transferring from £ and even paying for the priviledge:beer:
I am getting:
600 mins
U/L Texts
U/L Internet (Unlimited????? = 500 Mb Fair Usage)
Free E71

Now, can anyone help me with what will go towards the internet usage, as I like using Facebook a lot and will want to acces e-mail etc.

i am hoping that people will help me use the 500Mb sparingly and maybe access e-mails etc without using too much data.

Does anyone have any good advice on applications?

Thanks guys and gals

xx

I have the same phone and tariff with Vodafone and I use Emoze (free download) for push email which works fine. As for internet usage, I don't use Facebook so I have no idea about how that will affect your data usage but to give you some idea of my usage I send/receive about 15 emails a day and access the internet to browse websites several times on most days. When at home I usually connect via my wireless router because its always on and its quicker so that obviously helps to keep my data usage in check. Total data usage last month was only 70mb and even that included watching a couple of videos on you-tube. You can keep a check on your usage using the data log and if you're going to be a heavy user it would make sense to use wi-fi whenever its available to you.

Although I dont use facebook, I do have personal pop3 email and work exchange email on my phone. I occasionally view email attachments. I also use it for GPS and web browsing.

I use JoikuSpot software so I can let me laptop use my phones internet connection. In an average month I use just over 100MB of traffic.

If you have Wifi at home you can use Psiloc Connect to connect using Wifi at home and then automatically use the phone GPRS/3G connection when out and about.

My wife has the connect software on her N95.

You are right watcherman, always a bone of contention to me and i should have stated that.

I know that 3 have 'Unlimited' limit of 1Gb

Vodafone have 'Unlimited' limit of 500Mb

So, despite not being 'unlimited', the limit differs, yet another thing to think of when trying to compare packages....

i am surprised that anyone gets away with stating 'unlimited' when it is 'limited' but they all seem to get away with it.

24 Months period, do I get the sense that this may not be such a good deal?

i would be interested to hear peopes opinion, I am not someone particularly bothered about having latest phones every year and only renew it once and a while (I have had my nokia 6??? for 6 years and it is brill).

Opinions greatly appreciated guys and gals as always...

    £note,
tried to download the emoze file to my PC and it says that Windows does not recognise the extension .sisx.
did you have the same issue and if so, how did you correct it so it could be downloaded?

    Cheers

Easiest way is a direct download to your phone, just go to https://www.emoze.com and click on the "download emoze mobile client" link. Good luck.

You need the Nokia software installed for windows to know what to do with the sisx file. All it does is connect to the phone and begin the installation.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
