Hi everyone, hope you are all having a nice weekend. Couple of things from me -

    1) Daily scratches plus withdrew £10 :)
    2) Daily clicks
    3) Bit of Xmas shopping so i don't have to go in December when it's ded busy. Went to an Edinburgh Woolen Mill shop as i'm making my dad a small hamper full of miliature whiskys. As i bought quite a few the lady in the shop gave me a fab basket to put them in for free
    4) Went to the supermarket just as the veg was being reduced and got loads of half price root veg for slow cooker stews mmmm

    5) Night in with (half price) bottle of wine and x factor :rotfl:

    Think thats it.

    Evening everybody,

Been a busy bee today so just sat down. We've got the fire lit and I'm curled up in the chair watching x factor...bliss.

Rachel - congratulations on the wedding!!!

Hugs and waves to everyone else - welcome to all the new faces! :hello::hello:

    List for today:
    • [STRIKE] Check banking (all normal)
    • Breakfast from stores
    • Make soup for lunch
    • Make scones (fruit and cheese)
    • Veggie chilli in the slowcooker for dinner
    • Washing on
    • Shopping for bathroom at flat
    • Fill in online application for a basic bank account[/STRIKE]
Have been round at the flat all day today and yesterday afternoon. We've replaced the rotten floorboards in the bathroom and sprayed the rest of them and the joists with woodworm treatment. Tomorrow's job is to put some platerboard in behind the bath and then get the bath and sink put back in. Got a real bargin set of taps - armitage shanks sink and bath taps from B&Q for £28! In a dusty corner of the clearance section - very MSE :money:

Hopefully can start getting on with the tiling soon. Have decided to do it myself, all in the name of DFW-ness. The only trouble with making all this progress is that I am having less NSDs than usual because of all the B&Q trips...it is budgeted for though!

    Good morning lovely dfws :)
Looks like a promising start to the day here despite some rain earlier this morning. Chickens were fed and watered at 7am this morning and del boy the cockerel was let out to strut his stuff and announce the morning in his screechy sunday best crowing voice :), his 5 ladies decided to have a bit more of a lie in - clever ladies :p
Much of yesterday was taken up finishing fencing on the chicken pen, plans for today include cleaning up lots of residual plaster dust from the bathroom installation and painting the bathroom window frame. Later I have a huge pile of daffodil and narcissi bulbs to plant around the garden, (buy two get one free in B &Q ;) ) Just off to have brekkie, HM granary bread, HM plum jam, HM yoghurt, and one of next doors free range eggs :) my girls should start laying any time now

Have a great day everyone, see you later.:D

Morning all (or SM anyway, don't know if anyone else is about)

OH seems to have caught my cold, so is not happy :(

We managed to get the greenhouse cleaned out yesterday and fumigated with some stuff from the garden centre, so I will sow some autumn / winter salads in there today. Weather doens't look so nice today though.

Also clean out chooks, do a bit more housework and cook a roast dinner later as DD2 phoned and asked for one

Leftover lasagne from yesterday will have to keep till Monday then!

I need to cook and freeze the few remaining beetroot which I pulled out yesterday, and blanch and freeze the carrots.

Might also make some soup for lunches in the week, as I am back to work tomorrow after my week off , such as it was - rotten colds

    Now there's a dispiriting thought :(

Have a nice day everyone :hello:

Well I had lots of plans for today - which went out the window while spending the afternoon in A&E! Again!

After church DDs both went to play at a friends, then I got a phone call after an hour that younger DD had fallen off a chair and cut her chin, went round there, blood everywhere, DD howling, friends mum absolutely mortified, I told her please dont worry, accidents happen, but she was still so horrified bless her!!

Anyway it wasnt a big cut, but seemed quite deep, so left elder DD with friend & took squidly to A&E, got it cleaned up & steri-stripped, so we are now sporting a lovely plastered chin!

She is calm now, but it really shook her up just because of the amount of blood I think, poor thing. Lots of sofa time!

So I have now just got my chicken in the oven, tea will be a bit late but hey ho! DH not home from work till 6 anyway!

Did manage some hokey cokeying earlier, really need to iron but that may have to wait! Wanted to do some baking too, hmmm.....see how the time goes.....

*off to put a bottle of wine in the fridge* (think I need a drink later!)
