100 % Feedback fear... discuss

Discussion point here..
Everybody (me included) is keen to keep their 100% feedback score, but we are all very keen to complain when a buyer does not keep their side of the deal.
But over the weeks various topics have started on If I neg this buyer.. then I get a retaliatory neg and therefore loose my 100%..
well l personally as a buyer I do not mind a seller having the odd neg or two. If they do I check out those negs, and put them into context of their whole performance..
As a seller I also check out my buyers, and I would like to know if they will perform.. pay me ... and generally be a good egg....lol..
So lets get this into perspective.. if we are hard done by on ebay we should leave the appropriate feedback irrespective of what comes back..
The scammers and thief's can only get away with this because no one will stand their ground and neg when appropriate, or start a non performing buyer/seller.. because of this neg they fear coming back..
I say as a buyer.. sellers if you have a neg.. it will not stop me buying from you....
I say as a seller.. buyer if you have a neg it had better be for a good reason.. 'cos i will be checking.. and if it is in retaliation for you activities as a buyer.. it won't make a smidge of difference... and good luck on my auction..
So who is with me... I say less than 100% feedback is nothing to be scared of..
(can any one tell I am bored at work.... lol)

I agree! You should not be scared to leave a neg. Just keep to the fact and then respond calmly to any retaliatory neg. People examining your feedback will know who is right and wrong.
Any negs fairly quickly slip off the bottom of the page anyway and most people only look at feedback on the first page.0 -
I agree. Negs themselves do not put me off, but the way a seller/buyer handles them can do.0

This is an interesting discussion! I've been very precious about my 100% feedback, but have been nervous about getting negs lately due to bad buyers. Rather than receive a neg, I've given them the chance to pull out of the sale mutually and then not left a feedback at all.
I have two sales from the same person (using different IDs) and they both didn't pay. They since been NARUd, but I haven't left negs incase they get reinstated and give me a neg.
I think, in reading the posts here, that I really shouldn't worry about it.
When I buy things, I always look for the negs to see how the feedback goes on both sides and make my own mind up - so I agree that buyers will do that for me!

Whenever I've given negs in the past I've always received them back again in retaliation. I dont know why people wade thorough loads of positives looking for a few negs though. All those positives should tell you something.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I'm on 965 with 100% positives and still give negs where they're due. It's nice to have 100% but, once you lose it, 99.9 still looks pretty impressive! Can I help?0

I'll give a neg in retaliation to a buyer if the neg is hastily left before reading the comments or T&Cs. Once got a neg for sending out a R1 DVD, buyer claimed that I'd not advertised this, rechecked my post and not only did it say R1, it also said will only play on R1 or multiregion DVD player, purchased in USA. I was fuming - I couldn't believe that I then had neg feedback because a buyer couldn't be bothered to read. I left feedback stating this on his account.
HOWEVER
I wouldn't give neg feedback if the neg feedback left about me was because of a mistake I've made (which has happened, everyone makes mistakes from time to time), I would just add an additional comment explaining the circumstances causing the neg feedback.£4000 challenge

You really shouldn't worry about it as a seller - especially now that if you get a neg from someone who later has a Non-Paying bidder complaint upheld against them for that item, you can have the neg removed

Not fair - I can't leave feedback at all for the people I need to neg as they've been NARUd.milliejon wrote:Yippee - off to give my first neg soon.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -

Take care though as that only applies if the buyer does not respond to the dispute. The moment they respond they retain the right to leave feedback.
