Yep, and this was from page 4:lipidicman wrote:My recommendation: If you can get to a branch, then do so. The account can then be opened for you while-u-wait. It would seem the phone line is parking you in a queue.
I hope all goes well for the phonees(?) but I needed to ensure that first S/O hits on the 30th.
see, all the advice is there if you look for it!0 -
Finally opened the Saver account, in branch, today. I was seen immediately and the Personal Account handler was very pleasant and efficient (shock, horror, probe!) - just did the necessary and did not try to sell me anything else.
It has taken until now because I have had to start from scratch, as I did not have a Lloyds current account or their internet banking set up. As with a lot of things, preparation pays dividends, and it made the set up of the Saver a lot more straightforward for me and them. They transferred the initial deposit straight over from current to saver (I made sure it was there first) and set up the standing order as well.
So far so good.0 -
Good news. I think your approach of getting the CA and internet banking sorted first is the best approach. There is after all no real rush in setting up the saver, promotion of it only began mid-June.0

Yes, but I wanted to slip in the extra standing order for £250 before the end of the month, which I wasn't able to do - the first £500 was transferred about 8 days after I first made the 'phone call.0

Reported as spam. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Yngjackie - I don't think you can do this. On the agreement I signed it states "payments can't be made from another Lloyds TSB savings account".0

Yes, has to be a current account0
