When they do, receipt the money in your letter and state it is for variation of rent day in AST contract and ask for their written acknowledgement. Does not matter too much if they don't acknowledge. Don't forget to clarify what happens to all other dates in the agreement [end of AST term, notice dates etc].
So in the notice i give the tenants to confirm variation of rent day should i also confirm the new date the AST will now terminate and accordingly change the date on the possesson notice?

bella why dont you just join national landlords association ? - you will get guaranteed legal advice from their legal help-line - its quite clear you are really struggling and taking even well intentioned advice from this forum could land you in the doo-dooo - why not go on one of their landlords courses then you would really understand your legal responsibilities0
