Sky+ Box & dish that can't record?

Hey Guys,

I signed up for sky last month & got a good deal or what i thought.

I have just moved into rented accomodation & the previous owner had sky & a bt line.

I had my sky+ box fitted on Tues 29th September & haven't been able to record any programmes.

I rang sky sat & they said it was due to bad weather so was asked to try again.

I rang again this morning & this time I couldn't even get a signal for itv & neither record. I told them i wasn;t happy.

After re booting the box & having a signal tests, she says your communal sky dish only allows 1 signal into the box, which means if I record I must watch the same channel or the recording will fail or i wont be able to watch any other channels! The sky woman told me to ring the flat management company & ask to update the dish.

I think this is absurb! I phone the flats management company and they said no other resident have complained so NO New Dish.

I am very unhappy with this package, so am I in the right to complain & cancel my 12 month contract, as only having used the box for 10 days.
I also paid £49 to have the sky+ box, so can I get a refund?

The point I tried to make to sky, is that If I knew I couldn't record & watch another channel, why would I choose this unsuitable package? It does not fit my requirments!
