advice needed - mobiles4u problem

Hi, I'm feeling very stupid and wishing I'd never gone near Mobiles4U. Have searched site, can't find advice tho am very suprised - maybe everyone else is wiser than me.

I was with 3 when they rang, I'm still with 3 but with a new contract (via mobiles4) they assured me they would take care of my contract and any overlap they would pay for. I've already had to chase them up for the £25 cashback for referring my partner. So I was about to write to them for that and for the overlapped couple of months of contract (they are still saying they will pay) but I've had a letter from 3 as they think I want to leave them early and I have to pay in full for the remainder.

Obviously I am going to write to Mobiles4U saying they will have to pay for the whole of the remaining "old" contract.

I know I shouldn't have believed them, a contract is a contract etc but all I want to know is if there is any regulatory body I can "threaten" to go to if they do not pay up - after all they have said repeatedly that they will pay the difference.

Yes - I will just say "no" next time!

As with all things one thing is basic; never touch anything to do with a mobile phione contract unless you have it in writing and know exactly who you're dealing with. I don't resort to regulatory bodies (who are generally useless and a waste of time) but you could try consumer direct and ofcom/othello - I am sure others will provide more information on these.

When you write to the company I suggest you set out exactly what you were told originally (and therefore what you agreed to) and what has not been provided as promised.

Good point about having it in writing. I'm guessing if I'd asked for that in the first place I'd have never heard from them again! thanks

If you try looking up Mobiles4u.co.uk you get this message:-

"Please note if you have recently received any unsolicitated emails or texts from "mobiles4U" that this is not ourselves but someone else trading as mobiles4U"

Not promising I'm afraid. A suspect that if you google them you will find negative feedback.
