I tried one of the cheap recommended ones... Lidl I believe. I hated it.
Of the cheap ranges I find Botanics (Boots) the best. Their lip and eye correction serum is great. Can't recommend a face one though....
Neutrogena have a great affordable range of face moisturizers. I do not know WHY it is not available in the UK!!!

I'm not rich or anywhere near it....... but I use Liz Earle light in the pump, you don't need alot and it lasts for ages. It suits my skin and doesn't aggravate, which in a way makes it priceless! I order a couple at a time online and I do that probably three times a year maybe four.

I tried aldi and it stung my skin, but my skin can be quite sensitive.

It made my face sting as well.

I use Superdrug Vitamin E moisturiser - cheap but really nice, and it has SPF15.

I don't know if it helps, but I found that many products also bring my face out in spots, again, its very odd as I don't have sensitive skin -it doesn't sting or go red with products, but does just seem fickle.

I think from my experience, I find that if one ingredient seems to get me spots, its mineral oil- its whats used in vaseline, and that makes sense to me, as my skin would probably find it hard to breathe with vaseline on and has in the past broken out in spots around my eyebrows when I used it in the past. (Its fine on my lips!) I now look for products with out mineral oil in and its been so far so good. But it is hard to find these products and more often then not, they do cost money. BUT I often find I do not need to use as much on them, a pea sized blob rather then 10 times the amount with cheaper brands.
HTH and goodluck in your search!

Oh, and a few important things to remember: your skin needs change when the seasons change- the air gets colder, the wind dries it out in a different way then in the sun, and then there is air-con! What works in the summer wont always work in the winter and vice-versa.

And its also very important to wear sunscreen- just because its not hot does not mean the sun is not out! I sometimes get fed up and end up just with a sunblock stick (Kiehls has one which seems to last ages, its SFP50 and has no mineral oil, Mac and I *think* Aveda have high tester ratings also). You wont notice the difference until its too late....!

I love the Tesco vitamin E range,

currently I'm using one by Kate Logan beauty, but that's fairly expensive (was a gift) and I've stocked up on vitamin E for when that runs out.

I swear by the Body Shop's body butter, they are a bit pricey but last for absolutely ages I find, and I tend to ask for them at bday's etc..Very nice for my skin :) HTH
  • Olay every time. There are loads of products in their range and fairly reasonable prices, so you're bound to find something that suits. My skin sounds similar to yours and I'm currently using Complete Care Multi Radiance Illuminating UV Fluid.

My mum has used Olay forever and looks amazing for her age.
  • I usually use Superdrug's Vitamin E moisturiser but am currently using up a tube of Lidl's Anti-Wrinkle cream that's been kicking around here unused for the last year at least. It's very nice and seems to be absorbed quite quickly although I only use about a pea-sized amount once a day, so I think I'm still going to be using this tube come Easter.

A pea-sized amount for your whole face, neck and decolletage???? I use about 4 times that much! Maybe I have a big face :rotfl:

To claireac, Superdrug Vitamin E and Simple are really nice I find. HTH.

    Thanks everyone!

Really interesting replies, particularly about the mineral oil. I'll have to check my ingredients later.

I'm currently using this one from Boots, which I got cheaper that they're showing: http://www.boots.com/en/Time-Delay-Wrinkle-Prevention-Day-Moisturiser-SPF-15-50ml_124324/

    I really like it.

Will be looking out for some of the ones you've recommended.

My Mum gave me some Dermalogica Eye Cream that she couldn't get on with - and it's gorgeous!! Now that's hardly encouraging me to be MSE is it??!! :rotfl:
