Hello!
I currently use an old PAYG.
I don't spend much so have looked into a contract for £15pm.
Found one with E2save.com.
Never heard of them so am checking that people on here have & that the offer of the free wii with that is too good to be true.
It won't let me put the link in!
Thanks!
Lisa

There are loads of threads on here about E2Save (and Onestopphoneshop - now the same company). It is in fact cpw - and there's lots of information on them and other subsidiaries. They used to be fantastic - then became totally dishonest and untrustworthy. Check that you know exactly what you're doing; it may well be a cashback deal so is not as straightforward or "foolproof" as it sounds. If it is you need to do a lot of research on here beforehand, otherwise don't touch it with a bargepole. Search forums for "E2Save" and you will find plenty of reading to inform you.
Sounds like your potential contract is with a free gift rather than cashback; personally I've never been interested in "free gifts" since they usually work out a lot dearer - but in your case at least they should be safer. Make sure you (at the very least) print off all the details of what you sign up to AT THE POINT OF SALE - whatever the deal is.
In my experience Mobiles2yourdoor or Phones4u (same company) are a much better bet - although I confine my remarks to their internet dealings since their shops have a pretty bad reputation. I would also check out dialaphone (now the same company also) - anhy of those would be somewhat safer than any cpw company nowadays in my opinion.0 -
But problem with mobiles2yourdoor and phones4u now seems to be the deals they offer are expensive in comparison  and virtually only three networks on offer (o2, voda and orange). Something fishy is going on.0
-
Not entirely "fishy" - Vodafone started going through cpw recently and that has probably changed the commission structures. Apart from that, the latest attempts/warning at regulation suggested up to 10% of turnover fines for companies not fulfilling more stringent t&c and practice. I suspect it was more the former than the latter - Phones4u were always strongest for longest on Vodafone deals.0
-
Oh I know about vodafone getting back cosy with cpw.
T-mobile have gone into a 6 month period of absence from phones4u (apparently having reached their target sales). And 3 network, well they sell a 3 broadband dongle and two rubbish pay and go phones for them.
Still as mobilejunkie says, use mobiles2yourdoor, phones4u (and dialaphone) - less hassle likely. Just a shame of the current offerings (thats my gripe though :-) )0 -
if you're thinking of going into a contract with ANY third party company, with the purpose of getting a gift (or, if you've considered it, cashback) follow the above advice and make sure you read all terms and conditions, as well as the details of how, when and where you get the gift.
having had a quick look at a random wii offer, e2save say that you get the free gift with the phone. on paper, sounds fine, as you should get the gift within your distance selling/cooling off period. in this case, if the gift didn't come with the phone, the phone could go straight back unused! but that's the link i saw. i didn't go as far as to read what you need to do to get the wii. it may be complicated, it may be straightforward. you do get these free gifts - as long as you understand follow and fulfill all of the respective company's requirements.0 -
I want the phone & will keep it.
But I also want the wii
Solves a xmas pressie!

sorry - what i meant was that some companies say they will send the gift some time into the contract eg within 90 days. sometimes they have a habit of not arriving and people have to fight to get what is due to them.
if your gift is due to arrive with the phone then it is probably the surest way of getting it as if the company renege, then as long as you haven't used the phone you are entitled to send it back and take your business elsewhere. they lose out.
that's what we are warning you about - some companies do try to wriggle out of actually giving the free gifts and cashback.0 -

It will do as an Xmas pressie for Xmas 2010. I had an X-Box as my free gift, (with T-Mobile through Carphone Warehouse) and it took about 6 months to arrive.Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.
