Giving someone else my mobile number

Hi,

Im currently looking to sell my business and the plan is to transfer my mobile number to the buyer so that customers dont need to worry about different numbers. I am happy to lose the number but dont want to lose my 5 years loyalty with o2. Would it be possible to get them to transfer the number to someone else and let me keep my current contract but with a new number?

Cheers

Unlikely I think - if you transfer your account over to someone else they get the loyality me thinks.
No real way I can think you could somehow swap numbers etc without giving away your loyality.

Suppose you got a sim pay and go with another network, say orange.

Port the o2 number to the pay and go sim.
Port the pay and go number to the o2 contract.

Providing o2 allow this - you might get away with it - probably tricky.
  • phone them up and ask

If you take out another contract phone, then you have 2 phones on one account. So this might be away around it, as losing the one phone by giving him the PAC code should mean you still have one on the account.

    But ring them.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Not possible, it's been asked before. But there's no way it'll work on the network servers, sorry...

What if you pay off the current contract to end, ask for the number to be put on pay and go plan.
Get another phone with o2 on contract and keep the loyalty on that (in short upgrade early).
And transfer ownership of the pay and go plan to the new business owner.
