Opinions wanted please - hand mixer?

Hi all, I've been borrowing my sisters hand mixer for baking but it's getting to the point where it's living more at my house than hers
I know she uses it therefore it's time I bought my own. I could buy a cheap one for a tenner from Amazon (linky) but I'm worried this is false economy plus the motor is probably the smallest going. I'll probably only use it 3-4 times a month for baking, batter mix etc and also need it to be quite compact to match the compact kitchen:cool: I'm happy to spend up to £35 for the mixer and would prefer for it to last a long time. Can you lovely experts please let me know if buying the cheap one is false economy and/or recommend a decent mixer?
Thanks

Thanks

I have a Kenwood Chef which I love, but as worktop space is tight, I tend to use my Braun multimix and my Kenwood hand mixer for most of my cookery jobs. I wouldn't be without mt hand mixer. I use it almost every day, it's easy and quick to clean, and can whizz up eggs in a jug, cakemix in a bowl, sauce in a pan. I heartily recommend a hand mixer. I would be lost without mine! There's the £50ish one or there's £20ish one, I would go for the cheaper one, I had one of these for about seven years before I got my new more expensive one for Xmas last year!(sad, I know!) But remember I use it everyday, and I used to bake cakes for money, and it never broke down or anything! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I've been coveting my mother's Kenwood Chef for many years. It's nearly 40 years old and I learned to bake using it. It will be a few years before I can afford my own
Is this the Kenwood you are recommending? I've also found this one in Lakeland but I think I'm being seduced by the padded storage bag:rotfl:

Take a look at sites that give you more technical information, choose the ones you like and then look for the cheapest price. The Kenwood HM320 is a Which? best buy.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Just get the highest powered one you can afford. I bought one from argos that was half price at £20 and about 4 times more powerful than anything else they sold. Takes seconds to whip anythingI was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

So far I have found mixers ranging from the 125 up to 400 watt. How powerful do they get?0
