  • Any idea when it will be updated? Can't seem to find any info on when their updating will be completed.

As for the original poster, I know this discussion is probably over and done with, but I can assure you this is not how a Local Authority employee (whether in Social Services or any other department) would request information.

    Hi,
I would like some up to date advise regarding tracing long lost relatives......my colleague is looking for her half sister. She discovered after her father's death last year that she has a half sister somewhere. She only has the names to go by for search and area of birth. Could someone please shed some light/advise as to how she could go about looking for this half sister?
    Thanks in advance.....

What about something called the UK info disc? any body heard of this?

Yes, i have used infodisc, its an excellent piece of software. You can view a "map" of the persons location and see other persons who live at the same property. You can often pick up info disc for around £3 from computer fairs; if you live in the northwest, pm and i will give you info of where to buy it.

    Happy hunting!

It is quite limited though and expensive. Try the local library I am sure they will have a copy.
  • You could try the social networking sites like facebook or friends reunited. Some paid sites like findermonkey.co.uk 123people.com. Even a google search with "" around the persons name can prove successful too.
  • Hi

I'm hoping someone can help me...

Every year I receive a xmas card that's not addressed to me from the same couple. I normally just bin it, but this year there is a note in it that I feel obliged to try and pass on if I can. I've search 192.com and I've found the couple who the card is addressed to, but annoyingly their door number is greyed out unless I pay for credits. Would anyone who has a subscription (to 192.com or a similar site) please be really kind and look up the door number for me? :) I don't want to post their personal details but if someone could send me a PM that we be great.

Thanks you in advance :) xxx

I'm sure if you just try posting the note without the door number that the postman may well recognise the name & be able to deliver it to the correct house.

You often hear stories of letters reaching people when only scant details are on the front of an envelope instead of an address. Our postal service is pretty good in my opinion, so give them a chance & see if they come up trumps.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
