If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it.
I took a saucepan lid of a pot the other day and set it down beside some clingfilm which immediately welded itself to the lid.:o
It's not over a large area. thankfully, but I can't for love nor money get the stuff off! I have soaked it, scrubbed it, tried picking at it, and tried to scrape it off with a knife. All to no avail.
Has anyone got any ideas? Preferably not with a chemical that would cost more to buy than to replace the lid.

well, Yes. I have been using it again as it's my favourite pot, and it is not improving. The cling film has gone like a brick! So it's not re-melting again if that's what you mean.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Have you tried putting it in the freezer? This should make it brittle and easier to pick off.0

It's already brittle, if that makes sense. It's just gone like really hard wrinkly plastic.
I suppose I was hoping that someone would suggest that if I soaked it in baking soda or something, that it would miraculously soften and come off.
Wishful thinking I suppose, but I can live with it rather than binning it, as I use it all the time for 2 different pots.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Just a wee update. The cling film has finally worn off! I just kept on using the lid, every day more or less, and it has finally washed/chipped off!
So with no effort on my part, it has all gone and I have a cling-film free lid again!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
