have they given a reason as to why? (is everything as it should be on your credit files? no fraud markers? are you on the electoral role?)

the only alternative which i'm very very very loathed to say are "managed" accounts BUT the fees are horrific plus they usually have a monthly charge of around £12 (ish)

What about a savings account? You will have to take the cash out to pay bills etc and no DDs but it would be somewhere for your money to go and accessed.

Problem is though if the OP cant get a basic bank account they they've no change for a savings one...unless you try YBS internet saver? they do offer savings accs to undischarged & discharged bankrupts without hassles

Which CoOp account did you apply for? And how did you apply?

...as you're undischarged I still suspect CoOp are your best bet.

Went into branch filled in form, but also rang up today as not heard anything and they said i had been refused, I explained situation but they said they could do nothing, also rang barclays and they could do nothing over the phone I have to find out why I have been refused when I visit a branch, I did have a abbey accout which i also rang today and they stated that the account is closing in the next few days as they had recived a letter of the or but if i get them to send another letter they might keep it open, so i rang the or and they said they didnt have a problem with me having that account but noticed they had sent the wrong letter to abbey recomending closure!! when they ment to send one recomending I keep it! so they are sending another letter today explaining this, when I rang back he abbey I spoke to another person and they said the abbey account is going to close as its too late to save it but will review letter when it arrives,
Sorry its a bit long winded,
Other option I guess is them pre pay cards has anyone had experience of them? or what other options is there as need a account as soon as possible.
