Pay by bank transfer.
Strictly speaking, he is breaking ebay rules. So you could point this out to him and threaten to report him. But it is not worth being so unpleasant for fifty pence.0 -
Refer them to ebay terms and conditions, They can get suspended for this.
Tell the seller `NO WAY !!Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
DO NOT pay by bank transfer, if they advertise paypal then let them take it. Just send them the link that points out that they could be suspended for breaking the rules. Why use a payment method that has no security when you bid on something where you can use paypal?
Whilst I am not suggetsing this is the case, it is a common scam to show paypal in a listing and then try and put people of fusing it after the auction ends and push them into a non secure payment method.

so his invoice total was £10.35
item = £7.10 p&p 2.75 = £9.85
so will i just decuct 50p from the discounts/charges box and pay it
And add the link about T&C in my paypal box0 -
Pretty sure I saw in paypal terms and conditions update last year that demanding extra for using pypal invalidates the sellers protection policy. Might want to point this out to him as in theory this would leave him open to chargebacks even if using a secured postage service.... I think0

Does my head in when people still try and get away with charging extra for paypal fees.
I presume it did not specify any extra charges in the ebay auction page0 -

Even if it did, charging extra for paypal is against ebays t&c's. If its advertised that they charge extra for paypal, I just avoid the auction - their loss as I am sure others avoid it as well.
My advice: Pay the amount without the extra charge, adding a note saying that if he is not happy with that, you would like ebay to settle the dispute.0 -

I was just asking as sometimes sellers sneakily add the extra info into the auction then turn around to the buyer and say well it was in the auction and it's down to the buyer to read the auction properly.
I don't agree with people trying to charge extra for using paypal as it is against the rules and and the sellers are to pay their own fees and not the buyer0 -
