My girlfriend has literally just finished her part-time MSc, and still has her ac.uk address. I was tempted to get a second copy of Win7 for our laptop after preordering a copy in July for £45. Now technically she is not enrolled, but do they actually check that? I assume not.. but would like to know.

    ?

No, they don't check. When I did my MA I finished in September and my email worked up until anout two days prior to my graduation ceremony, if that helps any.

I'm thinking of buying a samsung NC10 in the near future. Now I have been thinking - if I wait till later in October - will it come with Windows 7 or will it still be Vista?
  • It'll be XP. The starter edition of Windows 7 won't be released for some time I imagine, and the NC10 will never have windows 7 pre-installed. You'll have to wait for a newer model before that happens. But they won't switch O/S half way through a particular model.

Netbooks still come with XP. Mainly because they'd probably explode trying to run resource-hog Vista!

I'll agree with you on that one! No wonder Microsoft was so keen to rush out W7.
