Yes this sounds like a good idea - I'd love to do it, but i'm currently going down the route of saving money rather than raising it. (my weakness is spending way too much on crap that I dont need)

I think that the people who do this will find it a real support - if you've commited to updating this weekly then you're more likely to stick to it. Also everyone will have the support of each other - brilliant!
Hey BFem - you can join in by seeing how much you can save by end of October rather then how much you raise :)
    Good luck everyone :)

    Hi all,
Have been busy with work, family and findings ways to raise extra, so apologies for not coming back sooner. From my research, the quickest way to raise funds, besides a job, is matched betting. I just started on Tuesday, and I have earned £100 already. It may look good, but there are people earning £300 a week on MB. So slow week for me

    Week 1 - 12th October till 18th October
    Matched Betting: £100

    Target: £1000
    Week 1: £325
    Week 2: £100
    £575 to go

    Hi Shepster,
No, you don't sound silly at all, I did not know it also till recently. It's basically a great way of boosting your income, tax free, by taking advantage of the bookies offers and promotions. It's not risk free, human error is common, but a good way of earning a few extra pence.

how did you go about doing this, I really want to try but I'm not sure I understand it. I'm not very good at maths either does that matter? I would want to make around £100 per week, I get the impression this is possible, is that right? Also, does anyone know if there is an actual list anywhere of all money making ideas discussed on here?
taken on second job + £160 per month
rejigged my bills + £190 per month
got cheaper car to run + £40 per month
    got two liftsharers + £120 p/m
    given up smoking since 31/12/2008 + 180 p/m
  • how about selling body parts, or is that a bit too extreme - (the typical student answer lol!)

Sorry, I have been ill last week, just returned to work so could not reply earlier. You do not need to be good at maths, all you need is the understanding. Luckily there are calculators and spreadsheets that do the maths for you.
I did not do anything last week, I was in bed so my earnings are still the same. £100 per week is possible, you need time and dedication but it's possible. Make sure you read the intro guide and the gambling forum, ask questions in the newbies section. You can do it.

As if I did not have enough bad luck, a strong flu bug sent me to bed for a whole week. No earnings last week.

    Week 3 - 19th October till 25th October

    Target: £1000
    Week 1: £325
    Week 2: £100
    £575 to go

Well congratulations on the hard work so far!

I've thought about doing this for a while but always ducked out at the last minute, assuming it won't be worth the time spent on it. But if I could earn £300 a week that would be more than my last job! Does anyone know how is this possible?
