Vodaphone, Options for fed up phone user!

Hey

In march of this year, i took out an 18 month contract with vodafone which included the blackberry storm.

In June the phone faltered and was sent away, took 7 days to return, and was deemed as a technical fault.

In august the phone again faltered, and was unable to charge. I contacted vodafone and they said i had to try it with a new battery before i sent it away again. Battery arrived within a week, charged for about two days, then failed to do so. So off the phone went again to vodafone. This time to return in 14 days, and again deemed a technical fault.

Mid september the phone yet again refused to charge, contacted vodafone about the possabilty of changing my phone, there response was there unable to do so, and insisted on sending me out, yes, another battery to try, before i send the phone away.

Two weeks later, and nothing, so i ring them up again, to find the battery was never actually ordered for me. Whilst on the phone i also tell the guy about a new fault which goes in the form ov not allowing me to hear the other person in a voice call. Again asking for a change of phone, and the respose of they cant do it, he says hell send me out a sim as well as the battery, and both will arrive on the same day, no problem!

Three days later, the battery arrives, along with, yup, nothing else.

Im fed up, i have a phone i cant use, and paying for.

Was posting to see what my options are, cuase i read else where on here that the phone company(vodafone) are only liable for the network coverage etc, and not the phone, is this true?

Any help would be appreciate,

Thanks

    Isnt it vodafone, not vodaphone?
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

    Unfortunatly not a lot.

Vodafone are trying to fix the problem so you can't say they are not willing to help.

I'd suggest putting all the problem in writing and sending it to customer care, you may get a better response to a call centre, and also it makes it easier if you need to take it higher up in vodafone.

I know it sounds odd, but a written letter ius harder to dismiss than a phone call that once it's closed off it easily forgotten about. A letter gets logged and replied to.

Yep, sadly not much, As the contract is for the mobile service not the phone.

Its a bit pants if it breaks mid contract, so that's why i took out insurance.
The advice above is good, try and get further up. State this is a long running issue which they have been unable to fix. State you have given vodafone fair time to fix the fault which is not of your doing so is a manufacturing fault, which if cannot be repaired should be replaced under warranty.

There is a vodafone rep on here who might help, let me find his details.
In the event that you haven't yet been able to get something sorted feel free to email your details to the Web Relations Team using the 'Contact us' on our website here.

When sending the email you'll also need to include a link to this thread within the body of it and state the code WRT135 in the subject line to make sure it comes through to us.

However, should things now be sorted for you could you update the thread so we know it's resolved?

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
