Cat is pooing all over the garden

Our neighbours suggested putting peppercorns in the grass as the cats don't like the smell. That worked in the one patch I put them in, now the cat(s) is/are using another bit of the grass lawn. They're not even going for the flower beds where there is bare soil, just pooping in the middle of the grass - it really annoys me but we never seem to catch the cat to be able to chuck water over it
Will try garlic bulbs and more peppercorns.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Try sticks in the earth between the plants on your flower bed. If you can find some knitting needles they are good because they have a blob on the top so you can see them yourself but the cat will find they get in the way of his activities. I use them in my onion bed.
Cats dont like pepper or powdered chilli scattered over the bit they like to use and they dislike vinegar smells too(well mine does).0 -
Moth balls seem to work to sprinkled around the garden in any area of bare soil or gravel which they do seem to love.Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10

Thanks, no it is not my cat, I am not a cat's lover. If it was my cat I would not be complaining as it would not be fair that my own cat is fouling other people's garden. I will try the chicken pellets, at least it will fertilize the ground as well.
We had that and then got our own who chased the others out, alternatively get a water pistol - it doesn't harm the cats, it teaches them its not OK to use your garden as a loo and its quite good fun as well!0 -
If you happen to live near a zoo spread some tiger manure around it is supposed to scare them away - I remember seeing this on tv some time ago & I think you can buy the product at some garden retail outlets - although I would have thought it defeats the object a bit :-) lolTheres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10

In my experience cats hate the smell of mint. I think perhaps anything that smells quite pungent will put them off as they have very sensitive noses.0
