Just an anger vent thread really!!! I'm SOOOO sick of having to juggle money - i wish i'd never let myself get into the situation where i had to do so!! Feel so angry with myself and even though i get down in the dumps (more and more lately) it has also made me determined never to sink this low again!!
Anyone else feel like this??

Of course! I get so mad with myself knowing how much money I have p*ssed down the toilet when in fact I could probably have some savings now! Argh - stoopid stoopid stoopid!
I guess the trick is to not be too hard on yourself though Dotty - you are on the right track and doing the right thing! The road to debtfreeness is a bumpy one so you have to take the rough with the smooth. Fortunately I can see lots of smooth roads ahead of you DottyAnne!
When is your Debtfeedate DottyAnne?"Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0 -
Ive never actually worked out a debt-free date - dont really now how??
Any ideas?Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0 -
You would use the snowball calculator...here's the link:

You need to put in your debts & aprs etc and it will let you know the DATE! May be good for you to have something to aim for?

Dotty and Annie I feel the same, when I get out of this hole I will be so clever with the pennies. In the meantime I'll have to look at it as training:)
I worked out that if I hadn't started smoking 20 years ago I'd be approx £20k better off.....
But like Annie says give yourself a pat on the back, doing the right thing here.

Hey Jo
I know it's crazy isn't it? The psychology of all the 'crutches' we have like smoking or drinking or collecting !!!!!! - it doesn't make sense!
I like the thought of us being 'in training' or may be we could class it as an apprenticeship?!!
Roll on being debt free and actually having some savings....sigh....

I LIKE that idea of being money saving apprentices. After all, we're all learning here, not only to get out of our predicaments but to change old habits so that we live a different lifestyle when we are eventually debt free.
Don't be too harsh on yourself Dotty, you're taking positive steps to rectify things and that counts for an awful lot.

Can only be one project manager in each case too !
Yes puts a different slant on it, I'm starting to enjoy the challenge, (the juggling can get you down ) but it is going to change my/our lives. The children are picking up on my little DFW changes hopefully they'll be fully trained too.

Know EXACTLY what you mean; since my LBM about 2 months ago money has been my focus and was SOOOO chuffed that I was not O/D on my account 2 days before pay day (tomorrow!) & what happens...check the acccount last night & its £8 o/d...was gutted. Took a step back & thought about it (after a cry) and realised that for the first time since I was 16 my account was in credit (I had saved £200 in savings account), I have changed beyond recogistion in the last few months & I, like you, am new to this. Its going to take time and those old demons will crop up (ie I still want nice stuff even though I dont need it..cant beat Clarins!!) but I am getting better at fighting them. Give yourself a oat on the back, You're here, heading for a debt free future which will take some time to achieve but at least you're on the right track. I think the other thing to note is that being in debt isnt that bad for your self esteem until the LB moment hits. When we realise how long its gonna take, & what we will have to do its like "DUH, I dont even know what I spent it on, Ive nothing to show for it, dur Im so rubbish etc." I went over my overderaft & bounced my account, and I burst into tears. Before i didnt give a s**t, really about stuff like that.
Being on top like this is pretty tiring too, maybe the time has come for family to rally round and give you a proper day off this weekend with a breakfast in bed and a bit of spoiling, make them do it!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
